A newly married woman is among those killed while a boy is missing in Vikarabad.
Two separate rains in Telangana on Sunday August 29 killed four people and one child went missing. Three people, including a newly married woman, were killed after the car they were traveling in was swept away in Telangana’s Vikarabad. In the incident, which occurred at 7 p.m. in the village of Thimmapur, Marpally Mandal, the car was washed away in overflowing water and fell into a watercourse.
The victims were identified as Pravalika, the bride; Raghavender Reddy, the driver; and Swetha, Pravalika’s sister-in-law. Sreeshant Reddy, a young boy, is still missing. Two people who survived the accident are the groom Nawaz Reddy and his sister Radhamma.
The car drove back from Mominpet to Ravulapalli, where Nawaz Reddy brought Pravalika home after a wedding ritual. The couple married on August 26th.
Police said the road adjacent to the lake had 2 meters of water, which the driver did not notice and kept driving. Under the influence of the strong current, the car was washed away. The car was followed one kilometer from the spot. However, the inmates were missing, the police said.
Recalling the incident, Nawaz Reddy said, “We were all locked in the car. The car was swept away and after a certain distance hit a tree, breaking the window glass and flooding the car with water. ”
Another survivor, Radhamma, who has not yet recovered from the traumatic incident, said, “Since the glass was open, I was able to get out of the car. But I was washed away in the car too. I don’t remember how my brother survived. And when I called for help, he came and saved me. “
Meanwhile, in a similar incident on Sunday evening, another car was washed away in the floods of the Kothapally River in the Shankarpally mandal of Ranga Reddy district. In the incident, Venkataiah, 70, was killed while all four other passengers survived.
Venkatiah’s body was recovered on Monday. He and four others returned to their village of Yenkathala after attending a wedding in the village of Kowkuntla, Chevella Mandal. When the car got stuck in the creek, four occupants managed to get out of the vehicle and get to safety. However, Venkataiah was washed away by a car.
