Since its introduction in 1964, the Porsche 911 has taken on some of the best European sports cars. When you have some of the best engineered and performing vehicles, the competition is going to take notice and do its best to take you down.
With that in mind, the YouTube channel Cars with Pilot Tseno have pitted a Porsche 911 Turbo S against some impressive supercars; a McLaren 720S and a Lamborghini Huracan Evo. Let’s see if the Porsche can handle the 2 supercars from England and Italy, respectively.
About The 3 Supercar Competitors
The all-wheel-drive 911 Turbo S in the video is the latest 992 edition released in 2020. The 992-edition Turbo S holds a 3.8-liter flat-6 engine equipped with two turbochargers. The result is 650 hp and 0-60 mph in a mere 2.8 seconds.
The Lamborghini Huracan received an upgrade in 2019. The Italian company fitted the engine from the Performante variant to the standard car and called it the Huracan Evo. This all-wheel-drive supercar hides a 5.2-liter V10 engine taking you to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds. Surprisingly, the power output is 10 hp less than the Porsche, 640 hp compared to 650 hp in the 911.
On paper, the McLaren 720S looks strong in this race. The car boasts a 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 producing 720 hp. This helps propels the McLaren to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds. With only rear-wheel drive, it might have some trouble off the line.
The Supercar Showdown

First up, they pit the McLaren against the Lamborghini for a supercar showdown. Both manufacturers state 0-60 in 2.9 seconds, but in this instance, neither reaches it. The McLaren starts well with a better initial reaction. The Lamborghini appears to be roughly on par with the 720S during the second stage of acceleration. Toward the middle of the race, the McLaren begins to pull away for the eventual win.
The Huracan Evo reached 60 mph in 3.06 seconds, while the McLaren was 0.11 seconds slower. The result sees the 720S win by half a second over the Italian car. Following the race, they line the Porsche up against the supercars for the showdown.

In the first race, the 911 Turbo S is off the line almost before the other cars have even started moving. Unlike in the previous race, the Lamborghini gets the initial jump over the McLaren. The McLaren 720S struggles a bit to get off the line compared to the other cars in the next race but is able to come back past the Huracan to reclaim second behind the distant Porsche.
Although the McLaren has the slowest getaway, it has the quickest middle stage. In the video, the time between 60 mph to 124 mph is 6.5 seconds for the Huracan, 5.9 seconds for the 911, and 4.6 seconds for the 720S.
They rerun the race two more times to the same result. All three cars improve on their 0-60 mph times, but neither supercar is a match against the 911 Turbo S. While the McLaren and Lamborghini are no slouches, neither could compete with the Porsche 911 Turbo’s impressive acceleration.
