A bride in Gloucestershire hitchhiked to her own wedding after the bridal car she was in broke down 25 minutes from church.
Shenice Beirne was already 20 minutes late for the ceremony – where the love of her life Sean Beirne was nervously waiting – when the vehicle with the chauffeur suddenly came to a standstill.
Shenice said she “stood in her big white dress” on the side of the road trying to call cabs, but to no avail, reports GloucestershireLive.
The bride’s sister, Siobhan Ellis, stood next to her, trying to wave to passing cars.
Shenice later went to Facebook to describe what happened and wrote, “The most unimaginable thing happened to me on Saturday my wedding day.

“My beautiful wedding car broke down on the way to church.
“Already 20 minutes late and 25 minutes from church, the car decided to break down. After I borrowed the chauffeur’s phone and rang a couple of taxis that were extremely unhelpful, what should I do?
“Yes, I’ll get out on a lane and hitchhike !!”
Shenice continued, “My sister and I were standing in the street in my big white dress waving cars down. We had a guy stop in a van who was so nice but didn’t have room to take us so we kept waving cars down.

“After about 15 minutes … yeah 15 full minutes of cars and cars passing someone who was obviously on their way to their wedding, haha, someone finally stopped to see if we were okay and offered us to go to church.
“They came from near Dudley to look around Gloucester Quays.
