Wedding parades and brides dancing have become an integral part of Indian wedding culture. But for a bride, the joyful moment of reaching the wedding venue in style turned into shock and grief when a moving car crushed several people in her wedding party.

The incident took place on Tuesday night in the Nai Mandi area of ​​Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh. Hema, who was about to marry Ankur, was about to reach her wedding location on the Dehradun motorway when she saw the wedding procession (baraat) from the groom’s side. In a moment of joy, she opened the sunroof of her car and began to dance.

Several people from the groom’s side joined the bride and began dancing around her car along the freeway.

It was then that the tragedy occurred.

A speeding car ran over around a dozen members of the wedding party. The groom Ankurs’ cousin, Pramod, died on the spot and suffered several other serious injuries. The injured were transferred to a hospital in Meerut.

The police recovered the vehicle from the scene of the accident. However, the driver managed to escape. The police have filed a complaint and the investigation is ongoing.
