A newlywed couple staged their wedding photos in iconic London locations – including a tube station.
Teacher Nick Kitchener-Bentley, 29, and writer Shaun Kitchener, 32, tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at Islington’s Screen on the Green on August 14, posing for photos at Angel Underground Station while en route .
The East London couple then went to a reception at Camden Lock in north London, where over 100 guests partied and posed for photos.

“It was nice that the public just let us do that and everyone seemed to be waiting for us to have the opportunity to celebrate with our family and friends,” Nick told My London.
With the Covid restrictions now largely lifted, the couple were able to celebrate the big day without worrying about social distancing or caps.

“We had the best day you can imagine,” said Nick.
“We could use the screen so we had nice funny videos and our guests had great drinks and popcorn.”
Nick added, “We took this as an opportunity to celebrate the importance of safety, kindness and love to queer people and to talk about how wonderful it is to have so much love, kindness from our great family and friends and have received support. “
The couple then traveled to Camden Lock, where they ” lots of photos, delicious food and wonderful dancing opportunities. “

While some of their guests took taxis to the front desk, Shaun and Nick opted for the subway.
“To be honest, when Camden was only three stops away, it was because we didn’t think it was worth paying for wedding cars, etc.,” explained Shaun.
“Our photographer was like ‘while we’re here …'”
Over 130 people gathered on the bridge for “one big photo” later that day before the couple were presented with a rainbow cake.

Carly Rae Jepsen’s “I Really Like You” served as the couple’s first dance, with additional choreography from Shaun’s sister Darcy.

“It was the best day in the most beautiful surroundings, surrounded by the best people,” said Nick.
“I don’t think either of us could have been happier to have this great opportunity to celebrate how much we love each other.”
