Bichi, one of Kano’s emirates, will meet with dignitaries from around the world on Friday and Saturday as President Muhammadu Buhari’s son, Yusuf, marries Zahra, the daughter of the Bichi emir, Nasir Ado-Bayero.
Apart from the wedding, Mr Ado-Bayero will be crowned the new Emir of Bichi, barely a month after his older brother, the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado-Bayero, handed over the office of office.
Shehu Ahmed, chairman of the wedding and coronation organizing committee, told reporters on Wednesday that the president is expected to attend the wedding on Friday.
According to the committee, Fatiha’s wedding would take place around 1:30 p.m. in the Bichi Central Mosque after the parish’s Juma’at prayer on Friday, while a baton would be presented to the emir by Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje on Saturday.
“President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to honor the wedding Fatiha of his son and daughter of the Emir of Bichi in Bichi city on Friday,” the official said.
Mr. Ahmed said that a special prayer session would also be held at the Central Mosque in Bichi at 4:30 pm
Other planned activities are the coronation lecture on Thursday at the Federal University of Education in Bichi and the handover ceremony on Saturday in the Bichi stadium.

The happy bridegroom, Yusuf, is the only male child of Mr. Buhari and the first son of the President’s second wife, Aisha Buhari.
Aisha is now the President’s only wife.
Yusuf, 27, is a graduate of the University of Surrey, Guildford, UK, while Zahra, 19, is currently studying architecture at a university in the same country.
The couple had posted some pre-wedding photos that were captured by Wraith Studio. There are other pre-wedding trending photos online that have caused controversy over the bride’s appearance.
Many critics from the largely conservative northern region, including the head of Kano State Hisbah, Harun Ibn-Sina, condemned the bride’s appearance, arguing that it was incompatible with her culture and religion.
