One family feared someone was killed when a car lost control on an infamous curve and plowed into their property.
The black Opel Astra destroyed a brick wall and two parked cars on Wingate Road.
The police are still chasing the driver who fled with a young woman who both look chic “like at a wedding”.

Most of the residents who live near the intersection with Larmour Road have been driven into their garden walls by runaway cars in recent years.
They called for urgent road safety measures to prevent a tragedy.
NHS parish carer Joanne Tutty expected her to be unable to perform her care duties as her Citroen C3 was the first vehicle hit by the Astra as it turned the corner of Larmour Road.

It then crashed through the family’s brick wall and decorative wrought iron fence before plowing into Joanne’s son’s Hyundai 4×4.
“If it hadn’t been parked in front of the house, it would have gone straight to the living room where my grandson was playing,” said Joanne.

She added, “We’re just grateful that no one was in the garden or walking on the sidewalk because they would have been killed.”
Her two grandchildren were at home when the car lost control around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The Humberside fire and rescue teams kept the vehicles safe. Humberside police later arrived to gather details from witnesses and seek video surveillance that may have caught the man and woman who ran off towards Cromwell Road.

Joanne said: “My granddaughter and I were upstairs. We heard the big bang and came down to see the chaos. All the neighbors came out. Everyone was there to offer help.
She added: “The drivers are coming around this corner too fast. We have lived here for 20 years. It’s like next to a racetrack.”
A resident of Wingate Road told Grimsby Live: “About 20 years ago a BMW crashed into our wall and knocked it over.”

He saw the man and woman run down Wingate Road towards Cromwell Road. A neighbor was chasing barefoot.
The resident saw the man turn quickly and run back to the car to get a bag.
“It was probably some form of ID in there. But he soon merged it with the woman,” he said.
Janice Robinson said, “Something has to be done before anyone is killed. My grandson was parked his car at the time. It could have hit him and he could have been killed.”

She described the man and woman as well dressed. The woman was blonde, wearing a black dress and black boots. The man was also smartly dressed.
“They looked like they were at a wedding or special event. He grabbed a bag from the car while she ran away from him. It’s not a stolen car and it’s insured, as we found out from the registry, ”said Janice.
She found glasses that had been handed over to the Humberside Police Department.
Neighbor Arthur Wivell told how his garden wall had been torn down a few years ago and a relative was narrowly missed.

Anne Middleton, a Wingate Road resident, said, “It’s always been a bad corner. We’ve met ours before. Most people have.”
Neighbor Keith Watkin said, “I tried to help local residents. These people work hard. We all pay our prices and deserve better service to make the road safer. “
He suggested that a small roundabout would slow traffic at the intersection with Larmour Road.
Denise White has lived on the corner for three years. Before their stay there, the garden wall was broken down again and again, said residents.
“We had someone miss our wall by half an inch when they lost control for a year in the snow,” she said.
She added, “Some overtake in the corner. When I have to turn into my driveway, I brake and point. But sometimes they pick me up because they’re mental.”
Humberside Police are investigating the crime and trying to track down the man and woman. Anyone with information can contact Humberside Police at 101 using log number 416 from Saturday.
