Even if everything is planned down to the last detail, something can always go wrong at a wedding. But a bride in the UK didn’t even make it to her ceremony before things fell apart. Shenice Beirne was on her way to her wedding when her chauffeured car broke down and she had to hitchhike to get to church on time.
The bride admits she was already running 20 minutes late when the car damage happened and she was still 25 minutes away. Shenice says she stood on the side of the road “in her big white dress” and tried to call Siobahn Ellis taxis with her sister, but they weren’t lucky enough to get one. So they decided to wave cars for a lift. “After about 15 minutes… yes, 15 full minutes of cars and cars driving past someone who was obviously on their way to their wedding, someone finally stopped to see if we were okay and offered us to take to church, ”Shenice wrote in a Facebook post.
Eventually, a couple whom the bride calls her “Guardian Angels” took the hitchhiking bride and her wedding party with them. In her post she writes that she is “very grateful” to the nice strangers that they “take the time of their afternoon” to help the stranded crew. And after Shenice shared her story on social media, she was able to locate the couple who were helping her and thank them again.
