Nicola Sturgeon described the easing of restrictions as “minor” but “important” when she announced the changes at Holyrood on Thursday.
The limit on the number of people who can attend funerals and weddings remains in place.
A maximum of 50 people can attend ceremonies under Level 2 restrictions, while this increases to 100 in Level 1 areas.
The changes also mean that wedding providers will no longer count towards the legal upper limit of numbers.
On Thursday the First Minister said: “We expect these changes to have relatively little impact on the broadcast – they are relatively minor changes.
“But I hope they will make a difference for those who organize and attend weddings and funerals before the major changes at level zero take place.”
Sturgeon said the restrictions will stay in place until July 19, when all of Scotland is expected to put the lowest coronavirus restrictions in place.
Up to 200 people can attend weddings and funerals with level zero restrictions, while indoor house gathering restrictions are expected to increase from this date.
The Scottish government is aiming to lift all major coronavirus restrictions on August 9th in order to return Scotland to normal.
