The Welsh rugby team attends the Lions star’s spectacular wedding

Wales and Lions prop master Wyn Jones married longtime partner Jeian Lewis in a stunning wedding ceremony on Saturday in Llandovery.

Many of Jones’ teammates from Wales and Scarlets were on hand to celebrate his big day, including Alun Wyn Jones, Ken Owens and Jonathan Davies.

The Scarlets front rower and his partner were supposed to be tense after their engagement in December 2019 in August 2020, but postponed their big day in Llandovery to a time when they could all have their loved ones watching the occasion due to the coronavirus pandemic .

The ceremony took place on Saturday in bright sunshine in September at St. Michael’s Church in Cilycwm, Llandovery. Beautiful bride Jeian wore a flowing floor-length A-line wedding dress by Llandeilos Huw Rees Bridal, while Jones was neatly dressed in a navy suit.

The streets in front of the church were crowded for the newlyweds to leave the church, and guests and well-wishers were ready to toss confetti before guests in a Bentley headed for the reception at the family farm in Cnwcdeilog.

Under a huge Good Intents marquee, the couple celebrated their long-awaited wedding with almost 200 guests until late at night.

Wyn Jones, who lives on the family farm, said on Instagram: “WAS. A. DAY. It was worth the wait”.

Jeian said of her big day, “We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day with our family and friends. Thanks. #thejoneses “.

Named the first Lions test of the summer before being disqualified for a shoulder infection and later starting the final test, Jones previously stated that he had little practical impact on the wedding.

“Jeian was responsible for organizing everything,” said Jones.

“I just nodded in the background. In a way, she had to organize this twice, but she probably enjoyed that!

“It’s not ideal, but we had to do it. She would have been happier if it had happened [in August 2020]but there is nothing we can do about it. “

The local Neuadd Fawr Arms pub was closed for the day as it provided refreshments for the wedding, when the happy couple performed their first dance in front of a live band on the dance floor in the marquee.

It was a meteoric rise to the top of rugby for Jones, who donned the coveted Wales jersey for the first time against Tonga in Auckland in 2017.

A year earlier he played for hometown club Llandovery in the Welsh Premiership.

But Scarlet and Wales’s mainstay has always stayed true to its roots, as evidenced by Jeian’s marriage at their local church before a reception that literally couldn’t be closer to home.
