(ANSA) – ROME, NOVEMBER 22 – A 23-year-old Hungarian woman died after being hit by two cars on a foggy street ahead of her sister’s wedding near Venice on Sunday.
The woman, who had traveled from Hungary for the event, was met outside a restaurant in Torre di Mosto.
She left reception to get some fresh air, witnesses said in a converted country house in the country about 20 kilometers from Caorle.
She did not notice that she was lost on the road because the fog was so thick that the view fell to less than six feet.
Suddenly a car emerged from the fog and rammed her into the other lane, where she was run over by a second vehicle.
She is said to have died immediately.
A preliminary investigation for negligent homicide was initiated against the drivers of the two cars.
An autopsy was ordered. (ANSA).
