Bar Limon in Malvern plans to become wedding venue

A MEDITERRANEAN bar and restaurant in Malvern says it hopes to become “the most unique wedding venue” in the town.

Bar Limon, which opened last year in Church Street, is waiting to hear back on the outcome of their application for a wedding license.

The team at the bar is optimistic they will be given permission, with the idea coming after customers remarked on the space being perfect for weddings.

Lucy Dunlop, owner of Bar Limon, said: “The idea came from chatting to some customers who recently got married and they were saying what a lovely venue this would make.

“I thought well why can’t people marry here?

“There are couples looking for a more relaxed environment to get married in – and the ability to marry outdoors too.

“So there is a lack of alternative venues available so a clear gap in the market.

“I really think Malvern could be a destination town for couples looking to wed.”

She added the garden at Bar Limon would be fully licensed to allow wedding parties to take place.

The team at Bar Limon is confident their application will be approved, with plans to host a wedding fayre at the restaurant on Sunday, November 6 from 11am until 2pm.

There will be representatives from different wedding suppliers and honeymoon organizers, and even a pair of Morgan cars will make an appearance.

Lucy added: “It is so pretty and unique and could bring much-needed revenue into the area with hotels, other hospitality venues and general trade.

“Worcestershire Regulatory Services said it will take a month or so to process the application, but they have carried out a site visit and see no reason not to process it.

“The registrar who visited actually said ‘it would be the most unique venue in Worcestershire – there’s nothing else like it!'”
