A bride was late for her wedding after the classic car she rented caught fire as temperatures rose.
She wanted to make her special Tuesday day go by with a bang, so she booked the posh vintage engine to make sure it arrived in style.
But on the way to the reception at the five-star Four Seasons Hotel in Hook, Hampshire, a disaster struck.
The bonnet of the sparkling white Mercedes went up in flames with the wedding party, miles away from the plush location.
The vehicle overheated when the mercury crept to 30 ° C during the heat wave and they were left lying on the side of the road.

The fire brigade arrived and the uninjured bride is said to have brought the rest of the way in a more modern BMW.
Dave Bartlett, station manager at the nearby Hartley Wintney Fire Station, said the woman had finally arrived safely to take her vows.
But things had to be put on hold a bit as she had to make new plans after the classic car ran into trouble along the way.
“The crew was called to a vehicle fire yesterday morning at 11 o’clock on the driveway to the hotel,” said the fire chief after his team came to their rescue on Tuesday.

“The bride was on her way to her wedding, so she was picked up safely and made the rest of the way in a BMW.
“It certainly added a bit of drama to their big day.
“It had the potential to be dangerous, but luckily everything was fine and the car was in a condition that needed to be fixed.
“The car was on fire, but when the crews arrived it was already outside.”
The wedding took place a little delayed, but still took place in the Georgian mansion hotel, which is located in the middle of 500 hectares of parkland.
