Corey Taylor’s wife shared a video of her wedding memories to celebrate her second anniversary.
The front man of SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR married Alicia Taylor, a professional dancer and member of the all-girl dance group CHERRY BOMBS, in her hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada, in October 2019. The reception reportedly took place at her home and was attended by a number of her friends and fellow musicians, including Roy Mayorga from STONE SOUR, Kyle Sanders from HELLYEAH and Lajon Witherspoon from SEVENDUST.
This morning Alicia uploaded the one-minute clip to her Twitter and tagged it with the number “2” next to a “heart on fire” emoji.
Corey also commemorated the anniversary by sharing a wedding photo and writing in an accompanying message, “2 years. 50 to go. Happy Anniversary, my Everything. L’adorilust.”
Last year Alicia shared a hilarious incident that nearly derailed the couple’s wedding anniversary. Using her social media to share a photo of the iconic 1960s Shelby Cobra vehicle that she and Corey rented for the occasion, she revealed how car problems nearly ruined the end of one of the most important days of their lives.
She wrote in a series of tweets: “This photo is from our wedding day. We rented this car to take pictures and it sounded like a good idea until everyone left. All that was left was CT in that car. and me in mine (we arrived on the website separately).
“Valley of Fire was now closed, it was getting dark, and we had dinner reservations in just over an hour – the perfect time to drop off that rental car and make it to our favorite romantic restaurant and continue our dream day.
“But the universe had other plans,” she continued.
“As I followed CT in the little sports car down the long deserted road leaving Valley of Fire, I noticed it was going slower and slower … – and came to a stop in the middle of the street.
“Before I could throw my head out the window to ask if he was okay, I saw him grip the steering wheel and tried to shake as he yelled, ‘FUCKKKKK! into the deep dark abyss of the desert.
“No cars in sight. No lights. I’m pretty sure I saw a flock of birds fly away when the sound waves from its echo hit them. Then silence. Oh man.
“But! Aha! We looked a little further into the distance and saw a tiny glow from what looked like a chevron mark. Yes!
“We couldn’t leave this 1965 or ’68 or whatever Cobra in the middle of the street so he left that fool in a neutral position and we – him in his beautiful suit and I in what I spent on this wedding a designer dress – pushed the car off the road and aside.
“We must have looked so ridiculous,” she added. “My dress was now completely covered in dirt. I tore it open with my heel trying to dig my feet into the ground while pushing this damn vehicle. Corey is also covered in dirt and sweating like he’s attending a Southern Baptist church in July.
“We’ll take the chevron at the end of the street, fill up some plastic canisters, and head back to the car in the direction of the Valley of Fire.
“I watch from my car while the headlights are on CT to give him a light – and I see him try to fill up the car. I look at the clock. Shit.
“I call Nobu and tell them we won’t make our reservations. You understand and postpone it an hour back now he’s soaking the side of the car and his pants … in fuel.
“A few more echoing, loud expletives are sent out into the universe and I’ll jump out to help,” Alicia wrote. “He smells like someone from a pit crew. He puts the other canisters in the tank, tries to start the car – dead. Nothing. Battery? Starter? What could that be?
“We’re sitting in my car to take a break. It’s the first time we’ve stopped and REALLY looked at each other since that clusterfuck started.
“And we laugh. Hysterical.
“Tears run down my face from laughing so much, and in that moment I knew he was a perfect fit for me.
“Summary: Waited another hour and a half to two hours for the tow truck. During this time our reservation was postponed again but not made. We were too exhausted and hungry to take care of it, so we ate at a Thai restaurant in the hotel stayed with.
“The waiter looked at us with raised eyebrows as we sat down in our gasoline- and dirt-covered, chic wedding dresses, our hair disheveled, I had a burn on my leg from the exhaust. He probably smelled us before he saw us – saw us you just married? ‘
“Yes.
“‘Congratulations…?’
“So now we’ve blown up the first photo REAL LARGE and it’s in our dining room.
“Moral of the story: Find someone to laugh with, especially when shit is hooked.” This can be a partner, a friend, a colleague … anyone. Find this person and appreciate them. “
Corey and Alicia began after separating the singer’s eight-year marriage to Stephanie Luby, which he married in November 2009 (the couple had a daughter named Ryan). Corey was previously married to a woman named Scarlett from 2004 to 2007, with whom he shares a son. The rocker also has a daughter from a previous relationship.
Corey released his debut solo album “CMFT” in October 2020 via Roadrunner Records.
