Fairytale wedding of the Cwmbran couple with a Cinderella carriage

A CWMBRAN couple who loved children celebrated their dream wedding – complete with a Cinderella carriage – even though they broke up many years ago after a failed test of courage.

Stacey-Marie and Dwayne Wall of Cwmbran were together as children, but Stacey said, “We stopped talking after Dwayne threw an egg in my face – I was sure to say I didn’t want to bother about it after that.”

But they got back together seven years ago and got engaged two years later. They tied the knot on July 31, 2021.

Dwayne is Assistant Manager at ETB in Cwmbran and Stacey works for Morrison’s on the Home Delivery Team

Did you always know what kind of wedding you wanted?

Yes, I always knew I wanted a simple but fairytale wedding. Our wedding was based on sweet love. I (Stacey) arrived in a Cinderella-style horse-drawn carriage. Our tables were all named after Haribo sweets and our wedding favors were shots.

Where did the ceremony take place and why did you choose this location?

Our ceremony took place at St. Gabriel’s Church in Cwmbran. It was a beautiful location and lovely surroundings.

How did it go?

The ceremony was great, with some restrictions still in place, we made it and the ceremony was beautiful and meaningful.

And what about the reception. Where was it held?

The reception and the evening took place at The Olive Tree in Cwmbran. It’s a lovely place and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful.

Where did you get the dress, the cars, the cake, the bridesmaid outfits, the groom’s outfit, the video, the photography, the flowers and the menswear from?

My dress came from wed2be; the Slaters suits. The cake from Karen’s cake studio (which looked and tasted amazing). Bridesmaid and maid of honor dresses came from the Next, Quiz and Children boutique. Flowers of Athena Flowers. The photographer was a family member and her friend – Michaela and Robyn – who were fantastic. The horse and carriage came from Kilvey Carriages.

What was the best of the day?

The best part was marrying my best friend and sharing our day with our beloved family and friends.

And the worst?

The restrictions from Covid were the worst, but we definitely made the most of the day and didn’t let the mood spoil.

Are you telling us about your honeymoon?

Our honeymoon was a surprise that Stacey’s parents booked. We stayed at the Imperial Hotel in Torquay for seven nights. It was nice just hanging out and doing nothing.

Everything else you think we should know about the big day

Our trip to the church and back to the olive tree was recorded on halfway through Cwmbran’s phones as everyone was out as the horse drawn carriage attracted a lot of attention.
