The royal couple drove from their reception at Buckingham Palace to Clarence House in the iconic British car just hours after saying their vows. The car was decorated with red, white and blue bows while balloons with the couple’s initials were also attached.
In line with his interests in sustainability and helping the environment, the car was fully transformed to run on clean biofuel in 2008.
Instead of fuel, the model is run on a combination of wine unsuitable to human consumption and whey – a byproduct of cheese.
According to Aston Martin, the fuel is blended as “E85, with just 15 percent of the prodigy containing traditional unleaded petrol”.
The brand claims the cars higher octane levels will also ensure the model is more powerful than standard machines.
In a recent documentary filmed to mark his 70th birthday, the Prince added how the car smells delicious” when on the road.
He said: “The engineers at Aston said, ‘Oh, it’ll ruin the whole thing.’
“I said, ‘Well I won’t drive it then’, so they got on with it and now they admit that it runs better and is more powerful on that fuel than it is on petrol.
“And also, it smells delicious as you’re driving along.”
The car has been used on a range of royal engagements including the Prince of Wales’s visit to Aston Martin’s factory last year.
A replica model even featured in Series 4 of The Crown when Prince Charles is reunited with Diana Spencer.
