Updates on sales of popular wedding locations near Burton

It’s been a year since a popular hotel and wedding location hit the market and it still has to be sold.

In October last year, amid the coronavirus pandemic, Staffordshire Live announced that the Mercure Newton Park Hotel in Newton Solney is on the market for around £ 2.2 million as owner and operator Jupiter Hotels “focuses on other business interests”.

It came just months after the venue was refurbished, valued at £ 150,000.

The property continues to sell at its original price after reopening in May this year as part of the government’s coronavirus roadmap.

A spokesman confirmed the Newton Park Hotel is for sale and said all weddings booked for the venue are expected to take place.

A marketing report found that the hotel could be used as a residential, nursing home or retirement home in the event that new owners want to change how the business is used.

The four-star hotel was acquired by Jupiter in 2015 and in November 2019 the company announced that it had been remodeled and that 21 of the 50 rooms had been redesigned.

The bridal suite was “redesigned and upgraded” in the course of the renovation.

The Newton Park Hotel was one of three Jupiter hotels that were offered for sale.

A report from Colliers International, which markets Newton Park on behalf of Jupiter, previously said the hotel was an “established company with diverse revenue streams from a number of demand drivers.”

The Newton Park Hotel is set on 5 acres and is one of the most prestigious wedding, entertainment and tourist venues in the area.
