Workers stole wedding cards from gift box at the Ulster County venue

An employee was arrested for allegedly stealing several wedding cars from a gift box at a wedding reception.

The man was arrested on Sunday, August 15, for theft that took place on Friday, July 16, at the Diamond Mills Hotels in Saugerties, Ulster County, authorities said.

The complainant reported that several of the bride’s wedding cards were missing from a box that was left unattended in the lobby of the venue, said Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra.

An investigation found that a staff member, Kory Rogers, 31, removed the cards from the gift box and hidden them in his sweatshirt while he was working at the event, Sinagra said.

On Sunday, August 15, the Saugerties police arrested Rogers of Saugerties and charged him with aggravated theft.

Rogers was processed at police headquarters and then released on an entry ticket.
