A total of 10 firefighters from across the area were called in to tackle the fire on Fox’s Lane near the A449 Stafford Road.
The call came in at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, with clouds of smoke rising from the International Conference & Banqueting Center (ICB).
A number of fire engines were seen in the street as crews battled the fire at what was allegedly voted “West Midlands Wedding Venue of the Year” last year.

Specialized technical rescue workers were seen cutting into the side of the building to gain access when firefighters told people to avoid the area if possible.
A West Midlands Fire Department spokesman said: “We are currently dealing with a major incident in Fox’s Lane, Heathtown, Wolverhampton.
“We have 10 machines plus special equipment in use. Please avoid this area if possible if you are near this incident.”

A West Midlands Ambulance Service emergency vehicle was also in attendance, but it is believed that no one was injured in the fire and everyone was held accountable, according to the fire department.
The fire brigade fought the flames well into the afternoon.
