Two cars set fire in a deliberate attack

The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. yesterday evening in the driveway of a property in Spylaw Park, Colinton.

The officers want to speak to two men seen at the time, both of whom are wearing gray tracksuits and dark sneakers. One is described as about 6 feet and the other as about 5 feet 10 inches and is mountain biking and carrying a backpack.

They could have been in the Lanark Road and Spylaw Avenue area as well.

Detective Constable Sam Gillies of CID Edinburgh said, “Fortunately no one was injured, but this was a deliberate and reckless act that destroyed two cars and could have caused greater damage if the fire had not been quickly put out by the fire service.” .

“We ask anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident to contact us, even if you were driving and have dashcam footage.”
