A WEDDING held in a marquee on private Newport property ended shortly after gardai called.
A Garda spokesman said officials “attended a meeting at a building in Newport, Co Tipperary on Monday, July 19 at 11:15 pm”.
“No crimes were reported,” said the Garda spokesman.
A local told the leader, “It was ready at midnight. The music was turned off and they went home.”
As of July 5, public health measures allow a maximum of 50 guests at a wedding service and 50 guests at the reception.
“The marquee was next to the house. Nobody knew anything about it. The street was full of cars. There was a huge limousine there.
“They had caterers bringing the food. It started in the afternoon. After the guards called after 11am, it was ready by midnight.”
