The recent fuel crisis must have made many drivers wonder if it is now time to switch from gasoline or diesel to electric.
We are also increasingly aware of our carbon footprint and the need to do something about it, which is one reason why sales of new electric cars in the UK continue to grow strongly.
But many drivers are still concerned about how far they can get with an electric car all at once. Which electric cars have the longest range?

What is range fear?
Range anxiety is the term for drivers’ fear that their vehicle does not have enough energy to get them where they need to go.
The term has a pretty long history – in fact, it was coined back in September 1997 in connection with electric vehicles.
Although sales of electric cars are growing, fear of range is preventing many drivers – especially those who regularly drive long distances – from making the switch.
However, there are now over 15,000 charging points in the UK. So if you ever run low, you shouldn’t have any problems finding a place to recharge nearby.
Which electric cars have the longest range?
Electric vehicles have a significantly longer range than before. The cars with the longest range can now travel over 400 miles.
According to Auto Express, the Mercedes EQS 450+ – an electric version of its S-Class sedan – has a maximum range of around 485 miles.
Not far behind is the Mercedes EQE 350 with a maximum range of 410 miles. It also has a quick charge function that charges from 10% to 80% in about half an hour.
Tesla’s Model S can travel around 405 miles on a single charge, while the BMW iX and Ford Mustang Mach-E 380, respectively.
The BMW i4 has a maximum range of 367 miles, compared to 360 miles for both the Tesla Model 3 and Tesla Model X.
Volkswagen ID.3 (336 miles) and Polestar 2 (335 miles) round off the top 10.
