About the editor:
On average, electric cars cost around $ 50,000. The battery needs to be replaced every eight years for eight years, which costs about $ 8,000. The range is approximately 350 miles. Every year you own the car, the range drops by an average of eight percent every 8-10 years, regardless of whether you drive it or not. A quick charger will cost you about $ 4-5,000 more. They can be charged with 120-volt electricity, but you will sit on it for eight hours.
That’s why I say that electric cars are fine if you live in a city, but in rural areas it doesn’t meet the needs of that population. This may change with longer range batteries, but you cannot rely on that.
The reason I’m saying this is because if you have to go to Sioux Falls on a cold Minnesota winter, for example, your range will decrease. Since the battery loses range and you want to shop on the go, you have to book an overnight stay in a hotel without a quick charging station.
At the moment it is questionable whether they can be plugged into the room’s 120-volt socket.
