THE Welsh TV station S4C runs a program called Y Byd ar Bedwar, similar to ‘Question Time’.
On a recent broadcast, a complacent electric vehicle owner said his car was cheaper to run than a conventional one that ran on fossil fuels.
The moderator and panel were reluctant not to question his claim.
Of course it’s cheaper right now, but as the number of electric cars keeps getting bigger the government will impose some form of heavy tax on them to replace the current £ 30 billion a year that UK motorists are currently paying in fuel taxes.
Then we stop hearing complacent claims about how cheap electric cars are.
It seems inevitable that we will all get EVs and inevitably we will all pay massive amounts to run them one way or another.
