An Accrington self-employed baker who specializes in cakes is feeling ‘honored’ and ‘excited’ as she is to feature in a brand-new TV show, Wedding Valley.
Amanda Waddington, 36, who owns Caked In It, has been making and designing cakes for 12 years.
Her business started off in 2011 when she would make cakes for friends and family, but now Amanda and her business will feature in an all-new TV show which celebrates all things related to weddings.
UKTV’s factual entertainment channel W has commissioned a brand new UKTV original series, Wedding Valley.
The 10-part series takes an upbeat and inspiring look at the thriving wedding industry of Lancashire’s stunning Ribble Valley.
Produced by Little Gem, Wedding Valley will document the highs and lows of some of the 1500 weddings that took place during the 2022 wedding season.
Amanda will feature as part of the series which is due to air in April, and she cannot wait to show the work that goes on behind the scenes when cake-making.
Amanda said: “Wedding Valley is a show about weddings in Lancashire. What goes into the making of your wedding.
“All the suppliers and happenings behind the scenes.
“I feature as the wedding cake maker.
“Viewers can see me making their cake in my home kitchen and then transporting and delivering the cake and any mishaps along the way and how I deal with those at the venue when setting up their cake.
“One of my brides who works for the stirk house as a wedding coordinator contacted Wedding Valley to film her wedding, as it was a unique affair.
“She wanted an Alice in Wonderland/Ru Paul theme so something very different.
“I feel very honored and excited to be featured.
“It was a daunting and nerve-wracking experience as I’d just come back to making cakes after my maternity but I’m glad I did it.
“It really helped give me that boost especially with such a vivid unique wedding creation.”
Amanda was a finalist in the food and drink category at last year’s Hyndburn Business Awards and in her business, she offers anything from brownies, biscuit favours, cupcakes, cake jars, cookies, weddings, birthdays, christenings, baby showers and 3D carved shaped cakes such as cars and caravans.
The mum of three said she is hoping the show will bring in more orders.
Amanda said: “I think it will increase visibility for me, as a home business we often get forgotten as we don’t have a shop front for example even though I have all the same food safety and hygiene ratings as a shop.
“So, this show will let people know I’m here and just as good as any high street retailer.
“I’m hoping it will help bring me lots more orders and followers in this ever-increasing market.”

“Love is most definitely in the air in Wedding Valley, but so is professional pride and competition, and the series will give viewers a unique insight into all the drama of the wedding industry.”
