Angry nurse kicked the cop after driving rammy away from the wedding reception

A “furious” nurse beat the police after she was suspected of leaving a wedding reception where she was involved in an altercation and driving home.

Paula McLoughlin attended the festivities held on September 5th at the Middlesbrough Municipal Golf Center on Ladgate Lane, according to Teesside Live.

However, the police were called after a witness believed the 41-year-old had driven away after a night of drinking and was involved in an argument with other guests.

When officers tried to arrest her at her home, she became “angry” and later refused to provide a breath sample after being taken to the police station.

McLoughlin, of Lord Close, Middlesbrough, pleaded guilty to assaulting an emergency worker and failing to provide a breath sample to Teesside Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

Lynne Dalton, prosecutor, said police were called after “trouble broke out” between wedding guests in the golf club’s bar area.

A witness later saw a white car pull out of the parking lot area before it stopped.

Ms. Dalton said the witness was then told by a colleague that the driver of the vehicle “drank at the party.”

As the witness approached the vehicle, McLoughlin got out of the driver’s door.

She had attended a wedding reception at the Middlesbrough Municipal Golf Center.

Ms. Dalton told the court that the witness recognized Mcloughlin as part of the wedding party and that she was also involved in a dispute with other members of the party.

But when the police got to the club, McLoughlin drove away and climbed a curb on the way out.

The court heard that she was driving erratically on CCTV and the police managed to trace her to her address.

Ms. Dalton said when the police approached her, McLoughlin told them she hadn’t left her home all night.

However, her bank card and phone were found on the hood of her car.

She then became “immediately aggressive” towards the officers and “angry” when they arrested her.

The court was told that she then “kicked out” a police sergeant, punched him in the diaphragm and caused him stomach pain.

Ms. Dalton said that McLoughlin, who had a previous brawl conviction, was given numerous opportunities to provide breath samples after being admitted to the police station, but did not.

Olivia Gates, who defended, said McLoughlin hadn’t troubled the courts in years and was a healthcare worker who worked 80 hours a week.

She added that the sentencing should be adjourned so that a criminal record report can be drawn up.

The agreed and adjourned sentence by the judges until November 19th.

McLoughlin has received a provisional driving ban and will return for trial next month.
