Audi drives two electric super sports cars e-tron GT, RS e-tron GT in India

The German luxury car manufacturer Audi has two fully electric four-door coupes – the e-tron GT and the RS e-tron GT – in India on Wednesday at a price of 1.79 billion rupees and 2.04 billion rupees (ex-showroom) brought on the market.

The e-tron GT has an output of 390 kW and accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.1 seconds, while the 475 kW RS e-tron GT achieves the same output in 3.3 seconds.

The automaker said the e-tron GT can cover a distance of 401 to 481 km on a single charge, while the RS e-tron GT can cover between 388 km and 500 km on a single charge.

The electric super sports cars could be charged from 5 to 80 percent in around 22 minutes, it said.

“Today is a milestone for us as we bring India’s first electric supercar onto the market. This is our fourth and fifth introduction of electric vehicles since July 2021 and we couldn’t be more excited about our customers,” said Audi India Head Balbir Singh Dhillon in a statement.

The Audi e-tron GT and the Audi RS e-tron GT are the ultimate brand formers of Audi and an expression of the continuous development of Audi as a progressive premium brand.

“These two four-door coupés symbolize our DNA and our ambition to shape the future of premium mobility,” said Dhillon.

The company has firmly established the e-tron brand in the country from the start.

Audi already sells the e-tron 50 and 55 and the e-tron Sportback 55 in India.

“This is evidence of our robust product offering supported by the best-in-segment ownership plans. We are overjoyed with the pace at which progressive customers are going electric and we will strive to serve all types of buyers in the future, ”said Dhillon.

The company stated that the e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT customers would receive a free wallbox AC charger in addition to the standard 11 kW charger – an offer that is being offered for the first time in this segment .

In addition, important car dealerships of the companies would be gradually equipped with a 50 kW fast charger.

The automaker aims to have around 100 chargers in 75 major cities across the country.
