Bride asks strangers to fund her wedding by providing PayPal details about the car

The bold move met with mixed reactions from people as some described the action as trashy while others said it contributed to the wedding.

Weddings are more of a big deal with large parties, hundreds of guests, fancy venues, stag / hen parties, and other expenses. While some prefer an extravagant ceremony, others opt for small weddings with limited guests for budget reasons or their own choice. Sometimes friends and family will help the couple with the expenses, or the couple may cut some of the arrangements. But a future bride decided on an unusual way of raising money for her wedding – by asking strangers for a donation. According to Mirror, this unusual case of monetary claim originated in the United States, where the bride in question had her PayPal account number on the window of her car. Text written in colored chalk on the front window read that the bridal shower was headed to Austin, Texas for their bachelorette party, while the back window had her PayPal account number written in pink in hopes of people would donate.

A picture of the car was posted on Reddit’s forum called Wedding Shaming with a caption that read: Giving the bride’s PayPal to a stranger to ask for money. The bold move met with mixed reactions from people as some described the action as trashy while others said it contributed to the wedding. One user branded it “super sticky” and said she saw two different cars like this one for the same bride over the weekend and passed them a few miles apart.

A second person wrote that if you didn’t look at similar posts on Facebook asking for money for their wedding, you couldn’t consider it cute or funny. Another argued that a wedding is not an achievement and people should stop treating their weddings as if others cared about it as much as they did. They also asked people to find something else to put their self-worth into that other than having an expensive party with them at the center.

Other concerned internet users indicated that such public display of account information could prove unsafe as it could be hacked.
