LOCAL businesses and ideas to help couples with their big day planning were on show during a summer wedding fair at a city hotel.

Visitors at the Drumossie Wedding Fair on Sunday could browse around a wide range of services, from cakes to planning, as well as beauty treatments, photography and cars.

The event saw a steady flow of participants coming through across the day to find out more from the various local businesses and attend the fashion show.

Anna Smith, events manager at the Drumossie Hotel, said that this was an occasion for the hotel to showcase what they had to offer.

She said: “It’s great to finally see everyone getting together and enjoying the day.

“Weddings are in full force now which is great to see, and at the moment we are pretty full on and host around three weddings each week.

“The selection of exhibitors we had on the day was amazing, we basically had everything from planning, all the way up until the actual wedding day, as well as a great variety of photographers.”

Among the businesses who attended were Alison White Photography, Creatures Of Habit Cakery, Black Isle Love Lights, Highland Ceremonies, Dream Events by Sarah and many more from across the Highlands and Moray.

The fashion show was organized by VSO Models and KBE Events with the support of Anne Hair Salon and dresses from McCalls, Rouge Boutique and Avorio Bridal.

Kai Logan, owner of KBE events, said: “It’s been one of the best events I have been to at Drumossie. The advertisement has improved so there was a better turnout than in the past.

“The wedding season is full on and we knew it was going to be busy but we didn’t think it was going to be this busy! We try to help everyone and we want to be able to help everyone but if that is not possible we would be happy to help and recommend others that can help them.

“The next year is looking unfamiliar – in previous years you could forecast but this time the uncertainty of the financial situation and how things are going, it is a bit muddled.

Glynis Woodhead from Highland Ceremonies said: “I think that is really important to have this type of events, people can come along and just have a very informal chat with you and not feel under any pressure to book.”
