A TAUNTON dealership has received a prestigious award for its ongoing efforts towards an emission-free future.
Taunton Motor Company on Priory Way has received Electric Vehicle Accreditation (EVA) from the National Franchised Dealers Association (NDFA) for its recognition in promoting more sustainable transportation options.
The accreditation recognizes how the retailer has educated customers and local residents about the gradual transition to electric vehicles before the government plans to stop selling new gasoline and diesel cars by 2030.
The EVA aims to encourage retailers to lead the way in adopting electric vehicles to create a greener future, backed by the Government’s Office for Zero Emissions (OZEV) and the Energy Saving Trust.
In order to be accredited, retailers must demonstrate the highest level of competence in both the sale of electric vehicles and in aftersales.
The standards required to obtain accreditation are reviewed by the Energy Saving Trust, which ensures that all employees are proficient in their electric vehicle knowledge and have the correct training, qualifications and knowledge of regular electric vehicle procedures.
The NDFA also rates a retailer’s charging stations and charging points made available to customers.
