When Jennifer Lopez married Ben Affleck, she didn’t limit herself to just one wedding dress. In fact, Lopez wore three Ralph Lauren gowns during the celebration at their Georgia estate in August. Additionally, she wore an Alexander McQueen dress and a Zuhair Murad gown when the couple made things official during a low-key ceremony at a chapel in Las Vegas in July.
Fashion’s ultimate It-girl Chloë Sevigny unsurprisingly tied the knot in the coolest bridal ensembles. The actress walked down the aisle in a sheer ruffled dress from Glenn Marten’s Jean Paul Gaultier haute couture spring/summer 2022 collection, with her hair in a chic low bun. For the wedding reception, she changed into a Loewe by Jonathan Anderson dress that featured a square neckline and sheer sleeves. Sevigny’s last bridal look during her wedding to Siniša Mačković was a lacy catsuit by Mugler.
Kourtney Kardashian married Travis Barker wearing a one-of-a-kind Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda wedding look. The mini dress was inspired by Italian lingerie; she wore the silk and lace design with a dramatic hand-embroidered veil that featured floral lace appliqués, inspired by the flowers of the nearby Portofino gardens. Her veil was also hand-embroidered with the Virgin Mary and the words “family loyalty respect”, a quote which was taken from one of Barker’s tattoos.
Eleanor Tomlinson chose a fairytale-worthy dress to marry rugby player Will Owen. The bride wore a beautiful white gown by Pronovias – which happened to be the very first dress she tried on. Tomlinson teamed her gown with sparkling De Beers diamonds to add to the glamor of her extravagant train.
“I had the most stunning dress with the most outrageous train,” Tomlinson recalls to Bazaar. “There wasn’t even room for my Dad to sit next to me in the car – he had to sit in the front! I have never felt so confident though. So happy. So loved. And so ready to walk down that aisle. “
Nicola Peltz married Brooklyn Beckham wearing custom Valentino couture, created especially for her by the house’s creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli. The design was a modern take on a princess bridal gown with a square neckline and a long train. She wore the dress with lace elbow-length gloves and a delicate veil.
Britney Spears married Sam Asghari in a custom Versace dress, which was made for her personally by Donatella Versace. The designer also created three more custom dresses for the bride, who wore them throughout the celebrations – including a tailored black mini that she slipped into for the evening reception.
Dutch model Daphne Groeneveld was the perfect inspiration for any minimal bride. She wore a fuss-free Galia Lahav wedding gown to marry her partner Justin Hopwood in Florence.
“We went for a sleek cut that would enhance her incredible silhouette and statuesque figure. It was so important to Daphne that the dress would feel 100 per cent like her. I just took inspiration from this, and what she envisioned looking like,” Sharon Sever, head designer at Galia Lahav, told us of how the team went about creating Groeneveld’s dream wedding dress.
Naomi Biden pulled out all the stops for her White House wedding to Peter Neal, wearing multiple custom gowns. Her looks included this tulle and lace design by Ralph Lauren which she wore for the ceremony, a stylish bridal jumpsuit by Danielle Frankel for the rehearsal dinner, and then a fringed party dress by Markarian for the dancing.
Pixie Lott wore the most ethereal Schiaparelli gown to marry Oliver Cheshire back in the summer. The singer shared all the details of her “three-in-one” wedding dress on her Instagram, which featured plenty of breathtaking details, including a 4.5 meter-long train and 20,000 glass beads
Sarah Hyland wore not one, but two Vera Wang bridal dresses when she married Wells Adams in Santa Barbara. The first breathtaking gown was a fitted, embroidered lace dress with elegant draping Juliet sleeves, which she wore with Jimmy Choo heels. She then slipped into a second gown by Vera Wang, which featured sheer sleeves, a lace bodice and a flowing train.
