Classic car auction set to be Queensland’s largest and attract big buyers on the Gold Coast.

More than 500 classic and luxury cars will be in one of the coming weekend Queenslands biggest auctions of its kind ever.

Enthusiastic autophiles can target incredibly rare and classic cars, from station wagons to Kingswoods to Ferraris.

“We have never done anything like this, the auction will last 12 hours and we expect to break some records as well,” he said.

“We have a lot of American muscle, Australian icons and even some super rare English models. There really is something for everyone at every price.”

Hames said the auction house sold classic cars for more than $ 1 million.

“It’s really hard to get emotional with a Hyundai Santa Fey, what’s really at play here is history,” he said.

For James Bond fans, a vintage Aston Martin DBS that became famous in 1964 Golden finger will be opened for bidding.

“This is a very rare car, believed to be one of 17, one of the last DBS ever built,” said Lloyds auctioneer Frank Cheney.

Hames added that classic car demand is booming, with more buyers than sellers.

Of particular interest are classic Australian cars such as Holdens, which are offered at high prices.

“We are desperately looking for Australian cars,” said Hames.

For smaller budgets, there is no shortage of vehicles that are suitable for a restoration project.

“They may have memories of working on a car with their dad and they are dads now and have kids so they put a car in the garage and will be working on it for the next six months,” said Mr Hames.

The auction starts on November 27th at 10am.
