Couple celebrate wedding at Heather Glen Country House

This week our Wedding Album will take a look at the wedding of Suzanna Pollock and Kevin McCamish.

Suzanne is a finance lead at Paragonvet Ltd in Dalston and Kevin is a quarry operative for Breedon in Shap.

The couple live in Carlisle and met when Kevin worked at Suzanne’s family farm back in 2005 and they knew each other through mutual friends. Suzanne messaged Kevin in April 2018 and they went for a meal at Royal Oak, Curthwaite on April 29, 2018.

Kevin proposed to Suzanna on January 24, 2022 on Suzanne’s 34th birthday in the Queen Elizabeth Walled Garden at Dumfries House, Cumnock.

The couple were married this year at Wreay Church at 12pm followed by reception at Heather Glen Country House, Ainstable.

The theme for the wedding was natural and hessian.

The bride’s wedding dress was from Wed2Be in Carlisle and was an ornate, lace, mermaid gown and she wore a cathedral length veil from Songbird, Keswick.

Her hair was done by Nichola All Styles Hair and Beauty and her make up was done by The Loft Beauty Rooms at Orton Grange.

The bridesmaids were her sister, Dawn Pollock, Julie Potts, the sister of the groom, Katie Martin, the bride’s friend who was 32 on the wedding day. There outfits were provided by Catherine Paige Bridal in Dalston. Her flower girl was Erin Banks, the bride’s cousin’s daughter.

Kevin’s groomsmen were his best man James McCamish, who is his father and John Todd, the groom’s friend.

The ushers were Graeme Pollock, the bride’s cousin and Peter Potts the groom’s brother in law. The clothing suppliers were Slater Menswear in Newcastle and they wore Navy Herringbone Tailcoats.

The flowers included a Willow Arch at church door, flower columns inside church and a large pedestal on font and arrangement on front of vintage bike. There were floral center table arrangements in hoops at reception. The bridal tear drop bouquet, bridesmaid hand ties and button holes by Ann Morley.

The bride arrived at church in Ivory Beauford of Cumbria Classic Cars and the groom traveled to Church in his father’s Ford Capri. The groom’s Massey Ferguson 35x tractor was parked at Heather Glen.

90 day guests enjoyed canapes on arrival at Heather Glen 1.30pm along with bottles of Peroni and Bellini’s. Master of ceremonies was performed by Graham Holliday with speeches at 3pm followed by a wedding breakfast. Evening guests joined at 7pm and enjoyed a hot buffet.

The favors included cupcakes and traybakes made by the bride, groom, bride’s mother and bridesmaid, Katie, in the theme of table names presented in Kraft boxes.

Heather Glen provided the catering for the couple’s big day and they also had a three tier sponge cake made by Bakery 27 and a fruit loaf made by the bride’s mother.

The couple’s first dance was Shania Twain- This Moment On. Afternoon entertainment was by Cory Spedding and Scott Barrie Magician. The evening reception entertainment was by 3 River City Band.

They went onto celebrating their honeymoon in Rhodes. Jill Harrington was the photographer for the day and Allen Williams of Lake District Productions was the videographer.
