Glenn and Gigi Moss of Riverside, California met in 1976 and married in 1981. To celebrate their time together, Glenn turned to Rolls Royce to create something special for you. Enter the Phantom Tempus and Dawn Black Badge.

The Phantom Tempus is already a special design with an edition of only 20 cars. Tempus means “time” in Latin, hence the Tempus refers to the discovery of the very first pulsar in 1967. Pulsars are rotating neutron stars with radiation pulses so precise that they can be described as Space clocks, hence the name “Tempus”. Moss wanted to make it more personal and special.

“I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate a special moment in Gigi and my life together than with this duo of Rolls-Royce assignments. The beauty of putting a Rolls-Royce into operation is that it makes it personal and intimate. Phantom Tempus has provided us with a wonderful canvas to personalize the painting of our life together … “

The exterior of this particular Phantom Tempus is painted in Crystal over Arctic White. According to Rolls, this color was chosen by the Moss’s to “symbolize the light and infinite nature of time in their marriage”. With this car, love is literally in the details. Mr. Moss had his solid silver Spirt of Ecstasy engraved into the base of the ornament with the date and place where he and his wife first met. Except for the longitude and latitude. Inside, however, this phantom literally shines.

The dashboard has an area known as the “gallery” which is made from a single piece of black anodized, hand-polished aluminum. The doors have hundreds of backlights to simulate swirling stars. The roof has 1,300 fiber optic lights that represent a pulsar with 200,000 stitches that color it, giving it both light and depth.

Since just one Rolls wasn’t enough, Moss also had a car commissioned for his wife. She gets her own Dawn Black Badge convertible. The exterior is in Crystal over Bright Red.

The Spirit of Ecstasy is made of carbon fiber with the date of their wedding engraved on the base. Inside, the interior is rounded off with what Rolls Royce calls “aluminum thread carbon fiber composite surface material in aerospace quality”. Both cars were presented to the couple by Rolls Royce in Orange County in a private ceremony. I could only hope to love someone so much.
