Electric Cars – What You Need To Know

Brian Moody, Editor-in-Chief of Autotrader, says Kia’s EV6 is an all-electric car. It is not just an electric car, but was designed as an electric car from the start, so it is not adapted from anything else.

If we are thinking of saying goodbye to gas, what do we need to know before we do that? Brian says he thinks the infrastructure is very big. He says they did the research at Autotrader and found that 80% of EV owners charge their car at home. If for some reason you are unable to install one at home and the unwritten part of it is that it leaves out a lot of renters. Many homeowners can do whatever they want when buying an electric car. Brian says the infrastructure has to be there to support it. He also says people would be surprised how many charging points there are. The Kia EV6 has a range of 300 miles so you don’t have to charge it every day. He says the 300 miles is similar to a normal car on one tank of fuel.

Some things we might not think about that keep us from buying an electric car when it could be a good option? Brian says he thinks most of it is perception. They don’t know what the real range of an electric car is today and how much I drive every day. He thinks people overestimate how much they actually drive. The average person drives less than a hundred miles a day. Whatever you do, even when you are out in the field, you don’t drive that much in the day, so 300 miles of range is more than enough with a car and he thinks perception is the difference.
