A former hotel overlooking Mansfield Park is being brought back to life after months of renovation.
Carr Bank Wedding Venue is the new name for the former Mansfield Manor Hotel, the Georgian mansion next to Carr Bank Park.
Friends and business partners Connor Doran and Jordan Miles took over the lease in March 2020 and soon began a program to redesign the building to ensure that much of the historic interior was preserved.
The two did much of the work themselves, including creating a new bar area and redesigned ceremony room.
Miles said, “Mansfield just doesn’t have anything like that around. It’s a fantastic building full of character and the park in front of it is so beautiful.
“We did a lot ourselves, took our time and made sure to create something very special.”
Original wooden shutters that have remained unused for many years have been carefully removed, repainted and reinstalled.

The number of bedrooms has been reduced from 11 to four and these are only used if they are booked for a wedding.
Doran added, “We’ve made an old building a little more modern. It’s also a blank canvas for people to add the colors they want for their wedding. We look forward to hosting events and helping people make memories. “
The venue, off Windmill Lane, will host weddings from April 2022 and has already booked a number of ceremonies. It offers a total of 70 day guests and up to 200 evening guests.
It will host a supplier showcase on November 21, between 1pm and 4pm, where a number of handpicked individuals will exhibit including men’s clothing suppliers, cake bakers, florists, a harpist, venue dressers, a wedding photographer, a celebrant, DJ, filmmaker and a wedding car shop.
