General Motors Recalls Electric Vehicles Because They “Don’t Work”

According to Sky News host Rowan Dean, General Motors has recalled its electric cars because they “don’t work”.

His remarks come after General Motors raised the issue in a media release.

“General Motors is voluntarily expanding the current Chevrolet Bolt EV recall to cover the remaining 2019 and all 2020-2022 vehicles, including the Bolt EUV,” the company said.

“In rare cases, the batteries shipped to GM for these vehicles can have two manufacturing defects – a cracked anode tab and a folded separator – in the same battery cell, which increases the risk of fire.

“Out of the utmost caution, GM will replace defective battery modules in Chevrolet Bolt EVs and EUVs with new modules, at an estimated additional cost of approximately $ 1 billion.”
