Inside the life of Prince Naseem Hamed, who is worth £50m, has £1.4m mansion next to the Queen, and drives super cars

FORGET a prince, this boxing icon lives a life like a king.

Prince Naseem Hamed, now 48, boasts a £50million net worth from a sports career that saw him reach the very top.

Naz won 36 of his 37 fights, losing just once, as he dominated the featherweight division – winning the WBO, IBO and WBC belts.

He fought for the last time at the age of 28, before hanging up his gloves and settling for retirement in an existence of riches.

The Sheffield-born fighter lives in a stunning mansion worth a whopping £1.4million, near the Queen’s Windsor Palace.

Better still, he’s been seen driving around the historic market town in aa £120,000 Corvette Stingray, one of many of his fleet of super cars over the years.

A Royal abode

Recently, Naz moved into a new townhouse that backs onto Windsor Castle which he rents.

It means the man aptly named Prince is the Queen’s neighbour.

Not much is known about when the former ring star moved into the home, or how big it is.

But, according to reports, the property is worth a staggering £1.4million.

Often, he’s been spotted walking his dog nearby – however he goes about his way completely unrecognised.

One onlooker said “He used to be known for his killer punch and showmanship but now hardly anyone recognizes him.

“But it’s good to see Prince Naseem living in the shadows of proper royalty.”

Hamed is believed to have amassed a fortune of around £50million in prize money during his storied career.

And it is believed he shrewdly put his money into property, with a portfolio said to exceed £70million.

His name also got him some perks too.

Once, hilariously when he was shopping in Los Angeles, he was mistaken as Royalty in a Sunset Boulevard boutique.

Of course, he went along with it when staff addressed him as, ‘Your Royal Highness’.

Fast cars

To get to the shops in the Berkshire town, Naz uses an electric blue Corvette Stingray that costs around £120,000.

Last week, he was spotted cruising around with a pal with the roof waving down at passers-by who recognized him.

That super car is one of many fast cars he has been seen behind the wheel of.

During his hey-day, he was seen in motors including aa Lamborghini Diablo roadster (£200,000), Aston Martin Vantage (£200,000), Ferrari 335 (£100,000), as well as various Porches, BMWs and Range Rovers.

Amusingly, he was once reported to have bought an SUV because it was snowing at the time.

However, his hobby of collecting incredible cars would get him into trouble with the law.

crashes

Back in 1997, Naz was lucky to walkaway unhurt after crashing and writing off a £100,000 Ferrari Berlintta F35.

But in 2005 he wasn’t so fortunate. He was involved in a 90-mph three-car collision, while driving a McLaren-Mercedes SLR worth £300,000.

The Sheffield Crown Court heard that Naz was eager to impress passenger Asif Goro, when he plowed into a Volkswagen Golf that emerged from a dip in the road.

He then hit a second car – a Ford Mondeo – he had tried to overtake.

The driver of the golf was seriously injured, breaking every bone in his body and suffered bruising to his brain.

Naz, who was unhurt, was give a 15-month prison sentence, of which he served six weeks, and handed a four-year driving ban.

He was also stripped of his MBE, and had to pay out over £1million in legal fees.

Keeping it in the family

Like the Khans, surely there could be a reality TV show following the Hameds?

Prince is the proud daddy to three boys, Aadam, 22, Sami, 20 and Sulaiman, 16.

The eldest boy is looking to emulate his father by following him in the ring – and has shared videos of himself sparring on social media.

While Sami is also forging a career in boxing – using the same trainer, Spencer McCracken Jr.

Unlike his sons who share an extravagant lifestyle on Instagram, filled with glam holidays and showbiz pals like Ed Sheeran, Prince prefers the quiet life now with wife of 22 years, Eleasha May.

But don’t fooled into thinking that doesn’t come at a great expense.
