A 20-year-old man died in a horror crash a few hours before his wedding.

Myles Harty, known as Miley, was in the passenger seat of a car that went off the road at around 1am on Saturday and hit a mast on the M6 in Limerick, Ireland.

His bride, Kate Quiligan, was forced to ponder burial plans the day she was to marry the love of her life.

“I’m leaving out balloons for my dear husband because we should all be celebrating the best day of our lives in this church there, but instead it’s the worst,” the heartbroken fiancée told The Sun.

‘I love you forever. It will always be me and you, no matter what.

“I love you unconditionally, my gentle giant, you don’t deserve this, my pretty little boy.”

Mourning family and friends were seen outside St. Munchin’s Church in Limerick City on Saturday, where the wedding was due to take place.

Music played as mourners let go of blue heart-shaped balloons with phrases like “King for a day”.

Askeaton Pastor, Brother Sean O’Longaig, said: “It is very sad for the families that they are now moving from a wedding to a funeral.

“Our thoughts and prayers are, of course, with the family.

“Myles was a young person who grew up locally, he went to the local school, he had a lot of connections in Askeaton.

“He was supposed to get married in Limerick today, yes, the family must be split up.”

Dozens of tributes have been left on social media for Miley from Askeaton in Limerick, who was a popular member of the traveler community.

One comment read: “Every girl waits for this day her whole life.

‘Can you imagine how excited you would be and then everything would be taken away?’

Another said, “I can’t believe it. Rest in peace Miley. God be with you my friend. The nicest boy you could meet.

“Just the day before his wedding. Condolences to his family at this terribly sad time. ‘

A youth who the police believe was driving the car was arrested at the scene of the accident.

A third passenger was brought to Limerick University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
