Mothers who die of rare nasal cancer will have a dream wedding thanks to friendly Scots

Everything is now set for a very special wedding next month after an urgent request for help has been answered.

People came in droves to help Gemma McGowan tie the knot with her sweetheart Steven Murie.

This was followed by a plea from Renfrew-based Wedding Wish Makers after the heartbreaking story of a mother of a Gemma surfaced.

Paisley’s Hunterhill, 29, had to bring her big day forward next year after she was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Suzanne Stevenson of Wedding Wish Makers advocated that the trade should offer the full spectrum of services, from wedding cars to outfits for the bridesmaids.

They even managed to secure a three-tier cake, piper and humanist celebrant.

Almost £ 3,800 in donations were also made to pay for the venue and other fees.

Suzanne explained, “We have now arranged everything for Gemma and Steven’s wedding, except for a videographer.

It only took Wedding Wish Makers a few days to meet all of the requirements.

Gemma, an assistant at Paisley’s Vets for Pets, has been with Steven for nine years and they have an eight-month-old son, Arran.

She gave birth after 32 weeks because surgery was needed to remove her cancer
Tumor.

Gemma was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the nasal cavity last May, one of only three cases worldwide.

But now she’s focused on having the best day in the world.
