But one wise bride came up with an idea to cut costs and give her the day of her dreams … but people are not impressed with her methods.

The opportunistic wife-to-be decided to ask strangers to share in her rising costs by writing a message on her car.
In a photo uploaded to Reddit, the bride’s car clearly shows the message: “I’m engaged! Help me plan my dream wedding!” followed by the woman’s Venmo details to receive money transfers.
The cheeky post was uploaded with the headline: “Note the use of the words ‘I am’ and ‘mine’, not ‘we / our’.”

Other Reddit users were less impressed with the request.
One said, “Do people really donate when they see this? I think it’s cheesy.”
Another agreed: “It’s like the brides expecting their guests to pay for their extravagant wedding, but kind of worse because you ask strangers who aren’t even there.
“I don’t know anyone who’s forcing someone to pay, but that feels so justifiable to ask at all. [sic]”
While a third said, “Okay, now this is a prime example of tasteless window writing. They turned the” buy me a shot “trend into” pay for my entire wedding “. What a weirdo.”
