New 769 PS strong Lamborghini Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae presented as the last hurray of the super sports car

Lamborghini called the time for the Aventador, but the brand made sure that its flagship V12 supercar gets a bang with it – the 769 hp Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae.

Production will be limited to just 600 copies, divided into 350 coupés and 250 roadsters. It is expected to start at £ 342,000, more than the £ 285,000 Aventador S but less than the £ 365,000 Aventador SVJ.

It is powered by a tuned version of the 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine of the super sports car, which produces 769 hp and 720 Nm of torque. In other words, that’s 39 hp and 30 Nm more than in the Aventador S.

The engine is still connected to a seven-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive system, but the added grunt has cut the Aventador’s time from 0 to 100 km / h by a tenth of a second to 2.8 seconds. The top speed has also increased from 217 km / h to 220 km / h.

It also has staggered 20/21 inch alloy wheels, adaptive dampers and the same all-wheel steering as the Aventador S. The chassis control is also similar, so that buyers can choose between the Strada, Sport and Corsa driving modes, as well as an adjustable “Ego” setting.

To add to the extra performance, Lamborghini has made a few styling tweaks to the Aventador Ultimae, the main role of which is the new front bumper with its special splitter and inlet design.

The brand says it has similar aerodynamic performance to the Aventador SVJ’s unit, while the larger intake directs air under the car to cool the engine. The additional waves in front of the front wheel arches also smooth out the air around the wheel arches. Lamborghini has also retained the active rear spoiler of the Aventador S, which has three positions depending on the selected driving mode.

There are 18 standard colors to choose from, though Lamborghini says its Ad Personam customization service opens up a choice of more than 300 paint jobs. The Ultimae Roadster also comes with a carbon fiber roof.

As the Lamborghini images make clear, the slats in the front bumper of the Aventador Ultimae can also be highlighted in a contrasting color. The theme can be found in the rest of the car, with similar highlights for the fins in the rear diffuser.

Inside you will find the same sports seats as in the Aventador S, but with an embroidered “Ultimae” badge. The dashboard has a unique badge that marks the place of each car in the limited series.

Lamborghini’s electrification strategy

Believe it or not, the Aventador Ultimae with V12 engine plays a key role in Lamborghini’s electrification roadmap, the first phase of which the company calls “Celebrating the Combustion Engine”.

This and another model with a V12 engine will pay tribute to the company’s most durable powertrain before the brand switches to a fully hybridized product range from 2023.

Lamborghini is expected to unveil its second “last hurray” V12 supercar at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance later this year. Details have yet to be confirmed, but rumors suggest that it will also be some kind of special limited edition model.

From 2024 Lamborghini will have electrified powertrains in all of its vehicles and we expect the company’s first all-electric vehicle by the end of the decade.
