Person hospitalized after two car accident in Audenshaw

A person has been hospitalized following a traffic accident in Tameside.

Rescue workers were called to Manchester Road in Audenshaw at around 5:20 p.m. on Friday evening (September 10th).

An Ashton Fire Station fire truck was on site for an hour and 30 minutes with firefighters.

Crews from the North West Ambulance Service were also present.

A spokesman for the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said:

“The crews arrived quickly and supported other emergency services.

“One injured person was taken to hospital by the NWAS. The fire brigade was on site for about an hour and 30 minutes.

The incident resulted in a section of Manchester Road being temporarily closed.

On Friday at 6:05 p.m. TfGM posted on social media: “Road between Audenshaw Road and Kershaw Lane closed in both directions.

“This is due to a collision in road traffic with the emergency services present.”

TfGM released an update over an hour later saying the incident had been resolved and the road was reopened.

NWAS and GMP have been contacted for information on the incident.
