MOSCOW, August 24. / TASS /. The Russian authorities plan to start an experiment that will allow electric cars to pass freely on toll roads from 2022. According to a statement on the government’s website, the measure is included in the concept of developing the production and use of electric vehicles. The document was approved by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
“The most important area of work is to support the production of electric vehicles and to stimulate the demand for them. Such vehicles will be included in licensed loan and leasing programs, for example, and an experiment on the free model is planned to start next year.
In addition, manufacturers of electric vehicles and batteries will have access to subsidies to co-finance the costs of building facilities, as well as special investment contracts, the government said.
Hydrogen fuel cell manufacturers can expect similar support. The authorities will provide a full list of activities to develop this subsector within three months.
