Aaron Seton will be testing with Matt Stone Racing in one of his Holden ZB Commodores at Bend Motorsport Park this Thursday.
The rookie of the Super2 series will be accompanied by Jake Kostecki and Zane Goddard on the Tailem Bend race track as part of a rookie day.
The test marks the first time that Seton has driven an ZB.
“It’s really exciting and I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the ZB Commodore and see what the difference is between the VF I drive in Super2 and the ZB,” Seton told Speedcafe.com.
“It’s a good opportunity to learn and I can’t thank the team enough. It will be a good opportunity to have my data compared to these people [Kostecki and Goddard] and see where I can develop as a driver.
“Of course, every little bit that you can learn helps. It’s just very exciting to see what the car will look like. “
This year Seton competes with Matt Stone Racing in the Supercars Feeder series and drives the Holden VF Commodore No. 30 supported by Sherrin Rentals.
So far, the team has not yet completed its passenger line-up for the Repco Bathurst 1000. However, it is assumed that at least one seat is occupied.
Kurt Kostecki stands in line to join brother Jake Kostecki in the # 34 entry while the other seat to be shared with Goddard is still vacant.
The team is said to be considering its options, including Seton, although the young gun has downplayed its championship debut as soon as this year’s Bathurst 1000 arrives.
“There’s no talk at all, it’s just about learning as much as possible and seeing what I can bring back to the Super2 car and trying to improve our speed a bit more,” said Seton.
Matt Stone Racing will be one of three teams testing at Tailem Bend.
Erebus Motorsport drivers Brodie Kostecki and Will Brown will run a rookie test at The Bend, as will Walkinshaw Andretti United’s Bryce Fullwood.
