Simon Cowell has teased his upcoming wedding to fiancée Lauren Silverman, saying it will be a “spontaneous” affair.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge, 63, got engaged in Christmas 2021 to Silverman after a nine-year relationship.

The couple share a son, eight-year-old Eric, together.

However, despite speculation the couple would quickly tie the knot at some point in 2022, the pair are yet to walk down the aisle.

But Cowell clearly has ideas for his marriage to Silverman, and has opened up about keeping the event a “fun” one for all involved.

“I like to make everything spontaneous, and doing that will make it a lot more fun,” he told The Sun.

“I don’t think we’ll be getting married in Las Vegas, but whatever we do will definitely be fun.”

The star also joked he had taken on organizing the bulk of the wedding from his other half, for fear of it getting “out of control”.

It seems 2023 will be a big year for Cowell, including a new project, a talent-search initiative based on TikTok, and the return of Britain’s Got Talent.

He’s also suggested there may be a return of the X Factor, which was shelved from ITV in 2019 after dropping in the ratings.

Appearing on The One Show opposite former contestant Lucy Spraggan, the pair hinted they have had conversations in order to combat the complaints other former participants have made.

She said: “There are things if it was to ever come back that Simon and I would love to like to make it a better show for contestants.

“I think that the importance is finding new talent and finding the people who really need a voice.”

Cowell added: “There might be a plan here…there might have been a conversation.”
