VANDERBURGH CO., Ind. (WFIE) – The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office announced that two stolen cars were found in the Ohio River on Friday.
Dispatchers reported 14 news that the crews reacted to a possible water rescue near the Dogtown boat ramp around 8:15 a.m.
Allegedly a caller reported a car in the water around 7:50 a.m.
At this point it was not clear whether the crews found anything.
Later on Friday, the shipping company announced 14 News that divers were out around 2 p.m.
We contacted Vanderburgh County’s Sheriff Dave Wedding who said two stolen vehicles were found.
He said one was stolen in Evansville and one in Henderson.
According to Perry Township Fire Police, only one was recovered. They say the other is still in the water and has been there for many years.
