See the subtle changes that occur as Grassy Waters settles into night. Enjoy a sunset over the marsh, and then paddle under the glow of a full moon. Be sure to sign up with a partner, canoes require two paddlers.

Laugh it up with Preacher Lawson at the Palm Beach Improv

Though born in Portland, Oregon, Preacher Lawson moved to Memphis and then Orlando where he said he started as a comedian. He is best known for his appearance on “America’s Got Talent” and for working with George Lopez and Lisa Vanderpump on the series “World’s Most Amazing Dogs.”

David Feherty: Live Off Tour! at the Kravis Center, Dreyfoos Hall

With a sharp wit and irreverent style, this professional golfer turned golf analyst, talk show host and sports broadcaster has made a name for himself as one of the most hilarious and irrepressible personalities in golf. He promises “an evening of zaniness and madcap storytelling.”

Theater meets jazz performance

“Of Ebony Embers: Vignettes of the Harlem Renaissance”

This coupling of theatrical narrative and music performance will feature the Core Ensemble along with actor Dracyn Blount portraying multiple characters. The show examines the struggles and triumphs of three African American poets — Langston Hughes, Countee Cullen and Claude McKay — as seen through the eyes of the great painter and muralist Aaron Douglas. The Core Ensemble performs music by jazz greats Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Jelly Roll Morton and Charles Mingus.

Supercar Week Grand Finale

What car lover would pass up a one-mile exhibition of the latest, greatest and most significant automobiles in the world? Supercar Week has arrived for the 13th time at the West Palm Beach waterfront. The grand finale of this 9-day event is Sunday, Jan. 15, and is free to the public.

A laser concert

The planetarium at the Cox Science Center and Aquarium hosts another installation in its laser concert series. The evening begins with songs from the 80s, and while the 1980s was an awesome decade for music, the main course is pretty much the tippy top of music. The Beatles. yeah baby yeah Great music, with lasers! What more do you need?
