Myles, of Askeaton, Co. Limerick, was due to marry Kate Quilligan at St. Munchin’s Church in Limerick City today.

Instead, heartbroken Kate released balloons in his memory at the point where the couple was supposed to tie the knot.

Kate said the tragedy turned what was supposedly the best day of her life into the worst.

She said, “I’m dumping balloons at 3:00 am today for my dear husband at St. Munchins Church because that’s where we should all be celebrating the best day of our lives in this church, but instead it’s the worst.

“I love you forever. It will always be me and you, no matter what. I love you unconditionally, my gentle giant, you don’t deserve that, my pretty little boy.”

Ms. Quiligan was supported by hundreds of family and friends, including those who should have celebrated the couple’s wedding while they mourned outside church.

A sound system played music as dozens of blue heart-shaped balloons labeled “King For A Day” and “20” were released into the sky over the church grounds.

A youth who police believe was driving the car was arrested at the scene.

A third man in the car was taken to Limerick University Hospital with “non-life-threatening” injuries.

Fr Sean O’Longaigh, Rev. Askeaton, said Myles was well known in his rural community in western Limerick.

“From the wedding to the funeral”

P. O’Longaigh said: “It is very sad for the families to be moving from a wedding to a funeral. Our thoughts and prayers are, of course, with the family.

“Myles was a young person who grew up locally, he went to local school, he had a lot of connections in Askeaton. He was supposed to get married in Limerick today, yes, the family must be split up. “

The broader traveler community that Mr Harty was a part of has plunged into deep sadness following Myles’ sudden death, with a number of friends and family paying tribute to the young man on social media.

One homage read: “Every girl waits her whole life for this day. Can you imagine how excited you would be and then everything would be taken away like that?

Another said, “I can’t believe it. Rest in peace Miley. God be with you my friend. The nicest boy you could meet. Just the day before his wedding. His condolences to his family at this terribly sad time. “

DEVASTATING FIREBALL

Meanwhile, in Galway, Garda continues to work to identify all victims who died in a devastating fireball impact in Ballinasloe.

However, it is understood that the extent of the injuries suffered made the process difficult.

The terrible three-car collision occurred Thursday evening on the M6 at Poolboy’s in Ballinasloe after a car allegedly drove in the wrong direction on a freeway.

It is believed that a young child and his or her parents died while the driver of another car was also killed in the accident – while another motorist driving a third car sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

On Thursday shortly after 7.30 p.m., a car drove towards the oncoming traffic on the west lane of the M6.

It is believed that the single-seater was driving upside down on a driveway onto the expressway and collided head-on with a car with three people.
