The bride-to-be gives PayPal details about the car and asks strangers to fund the wedding

We all know how expensive weddings can be; With the price of the dress, the venue, the food, and even the flowers, it’s no wonder tying the knot can put a strain on your account.

However, a bride-to-be had a novel way to raise money for the big day – by asking strangers to donate.

The nameless woman stuck her PayPal number on the windows of her car and asked people to donate generously to her wedding fund.

While this particular bride blatantly craved cash, people on Reddit were less than supportive after the photo was posted on one of the site’s threads – with a person claiming two cards had been branded with their PayPal number for cash to collect.

The bride was branded “trashy” and “sticky” for trying to raise the money she needed for her big day on Reddit’s “Wedding Shaming” page.

“If you think it’s cheesy when people ask for donations for their wedding on Facebook, you can’t think it’s cute or funny. It’s exactly the same, ”wrote one person haughty.

“It’s super sticky,” said a second.

“Surely that is an unsafe thing?” asked a third. “But maybe I’m just a very private and paranoid person.”

While a fourth said, “I think if you want to be hacked, this is the way to go!”

Others, however, were more positive about the idea.

“I don’t find this really cheesy,” wrote one person. “After seeing this, I might want to send the bride-to-be some money for a drink.”

A second wrote, “Asking large sums of money to fund the wedding or forcing your guests to cough up money to attend is not the same as spending your PayPal / Venmo on your car. I’ve seen people do this for birthdays and graduations as well. Gives people a chance to buy them a ‘virtual’ drink or something. “

“When a bride has a Facebook status like ‘Let’s go to the hen party with my girls !!! but i just see it as someone having a good time. That’s what this car does, “said a third person.

Hmmm … the jury is out.
